Officer Murphy with HSPPR's Animal Law Enforcement got a request to pick up a stray dog, and when she arrived, she met the wiggly but very matted Apollo. Apollo's beautiful coat wasn't groomed properly, which caused painful mats on his paws and tail end.
Before bringing him to the shelter, Officer Murphy scanned sweet Apollo for a microchip, and voila! The little cotton ball was chipped, and our admissions team found contact information for a possible owner.
We called to let them know Apollo was safe at HSPPR, and we soon found out they had been looking for their sweet pup for over a year! The entire family came in for the wholesome reunion, and immediately after leaving the shelter, Apollo's dog mom treated him to a day at the spa for a much-needed haircut.
Congratulations to Apollo and his family on their Happy Tail!
