Meeting the Sensory Needs During Emergency Situations

Kids and adults with autism tend to have sensory challenges especially triggered by loud sounds and lights. Given that upwards of 48% of autism families find themselves in emergency situations - dealing with police and emergency responders - we offer sensory kits. We also provide these kits to families who wish to have them as part of their hurricane supplies.
These kits include noise canceling headphones, fidget items, and easy to access toys and art supplies. They were designed by parents of children with complex needs, so that we could adequately offer something that could assist them during a time of emergency.
